A 16-year-old student, Mohammad Shamaz, was declared brain dead after a parapet wall collapsed during a college union installation ceremony in Mangaluru on Saturday. Four others, aged 18-23, were injured and shifted to Highland Hospital. The incident occurred due to overcrowding and a weak parapet wall, which was caused by students leaning against it. The Mangaluru City Police Commissioner is investigating the case.
