The Delhi Police have registered at least three cases under section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for "disobedience to order duly promulgated by a public servant" related to Friday's protests at Jantar Mantar. Around 1,000 people were detained, including senior leaders and activists, for attempting to gather in large numbers despite prohibitory orders. The protesters violated section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, which prohibits public meetings and gatherings without prior written permission.
