Singh's lawyer claimed the minister assaulted Singh for questioning the quality of road construction and livestreaming the incident. Verma denied the allegations, claiming that AAP workers abused his family and misbehaved. Following protests demanding an FIR against the minister, Delhi Police detained several AAP leaders, including Delhi President Saurabh Bhardwaj.
