Tensions Between Meitei and Pangal Communities in Manipur Continue to Worry Students

Over 1,000 Muslim students in Manipur's Thoubal district have been unable to attend school for 16 days due to ongoing tensions between Meitei and Pangal communities. The tensions, which began after a man was killed in a stone-throwing incident, have led to the deployment of security forces and the formation of joint action committees by both villages. Authorities are working to arrange a peace meeting to restore normalcy and allow students to return to school.
