The Haryana transport department has issued a directive requiring petrol stations in the National Capital Region to verify vehicle pollution under control (PUC) certificates before refuelling vehicles from October 1. Vehicles without valid PUC certificates will be denied fuel. Petrol pump operators must use Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras or manually verify PUC certificates, and may face fines up to ₹10,000 for non-compliance.
