Medical staff and nurses at Shastrinagar Hospital in Dombivli broke down in tears during a meeting with authorities following an assault by Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) corporator Ramesh Mhatre. Captured on CCTV, Mhatre and his associates viciously slapped and punched medical staff, including a woman gynaecologist, over the unavailability of (NICU) beds. Following massive outrage, the Vishnu Nagar police booked and arrested the 72-year-old corporator along with three associates.
