Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma defended recent A-rated Bollywood blockbusters, including Animal and Dhurandhar, against criticism that they glorify violence. He compared blaming films for rising violence to blaming the Indian epic Ramayana for kidnappings, arguing that films aim to provoke emotions and startle audiences. Varma has previously praised both films, with one director countering that modern action films feature alpha-male heroes responsible for violence, rather than villains.
