Neil Armstrong's Childhood Home Purchased to Host Public Tours

The Auglaize County Historical Society has acquired astronaut Neil Armstrong's childhood home in Wapakoneta, Ohio. The purchase was made possible through a $400,000 donation from retired pilot Ken Schreiber after no other buyers stepped forward to preserve the historic property. The historical society plans to restore the two-storey house to its 1940s appearance and open it for public tours by 2030, marking the 100th anniversary of Armstrong's birth.
