Amit Joshi to direct Malamaal Weekly sequel as Priyadarshan exits

Filmmaker Priyadarshan has confirmed he will not direct Malamaal Weekly 2, stating that he has decided not to make any sequels. Director Amit Joshi, known for Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, will now helm the project. Original star Riteish Deshmukh is reportedly not returning, and a fresh cast has been finalized. The upcoming sequel will feature a new storyline while keeping the original small-town comedy theme.
