On January 22, 1999, Australian Christian missionary Graham Staines and his two young sons, Philip and Timothy, were burned alive in Manoharpur village, Odisha. A mob led by activist Dara Singh poured petrol over the vehicle where the family was sleeping and trapped them inside as it burned.
