Cyclone Arnab is expected to intensify into a very severe cyclonic storm over the Bay of Bengal and cross the Andhra Pradesh and Yanam coasts between Bapatla and Visakhapatnam by the forenoon of October 28, bringing winds of 115 to 125 kmph. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to maintain 24-hour vigil to prevent loss of life. Meanwhile, heavy rains continue in parts of Tamil Nadu due to the active northeast monsoon.
