India to Open All Agniveers to Join Armed Forces as Regular Soldiers

The Indian government has cleared a major overhaul of the Agnipath scheme, allowing all Agniveers to join the armed forces as regular soldiers after completing their four-year tenure. Under the new scheme, 25% of Agniveers will be selected on merit, while the remaining 75% will have the option to join as regular soldiers after a two-year extension, with enhanced pay and benefits.
