Preeti Pal Dedicates Asian Para Games Medals to Slain Teammate

Indian para-sprinter Preeti Pal dedicated her two silver medals at the Asian Para Games in Nagoya, Japan, to her late training partner Chirag Tyagi. Tyagi was shot dead in Ghaziabad in May by another athlete who suspected him of causing his disqualification from competitions.

Before his death, Tyagi had qualified for the Games alongside Pal and fellow gold-medalist Simran Sharma. The athletes trained together at New Delhi's JLN Stadium under coach Gajendra Singh.
