Govt Exceeds Disinvestment Goal Post IDBI Bank Sale

The Indian government is set to exceed its full-year disinvestment target of ₹80,000 crore following the approved sale of its stake in IDBI Bank on October 14. Between April and September 2026, the Centre raised ₹62,124 crore through disinvestment and asset monetisation, achieving 78% of its annual target. The increased collections will help balance government finances as capital spending rose by over 18% amid modest tax revenue growth.
